Amazon Trials AI-Generated Audio Summaries for Products, Bolstering Tech Giants’ AI Expansion
() -Amazon is testing AI-powered short-form audio summaries on select product detail pages, the e-commerce giant said on Wednesday, as tech companies continue to integrate artificial intelligence across their platforms.
This updated feature provides summaries about items through an AI-powered examination of product specifics, consumer feedback, as well as additional data available online.
At present, this service is accessible only to some U.S. clients; however, the firm intends to broaden its offerings and reach additional consumers over the next few months.
Customers can listen to these audio summaries by clicking the "Hear the highlights" option within the Amazon shopping application.
Amazon has stepped up its efforts to integrate AI throughout its operations, recently giving new life to Alexa+, which is a voice assistant driven by generative artificial intelligence.
The firm has similarly incorporated tools like Rufus, an AI-driven shopping aid that addresses multiple purchasing inquiries, along with Shopping Guides, offering advice and suggesting products directly into their online platform.
Technology firms have been quickly rolling out artificial intelligence solutions to customers, driven by the success of OpenAI's ChatGTP chatbot.
In the previous month, OpenAI enhanced ChatGPT’s web searching features to upgrade online shopping experiences for users through tailored product suggestions complete with images, customer feedback, and immediate purchasing options.
Major tech companies like Google and Meta continually introduce new AI-powered features and upgrades across their product lines.
